Deep Dive on USS Cooper

Following up on last years successful dive on the Princess of the Orient off Manila Bay, Mandarin Divers will provide support for a World Record attempt on the USS Cooper in Ormoc Bay, Lyette.

The dive will take place towards the end of February and will involve a series of build up dives including a dive on the Japanese warship Kuwa which lies in 120 metres and is a very deep dive for even the most experienced of Technical Divers.

The dive on the Cooper will be the culmination of preparation dives as well as a hard search to locate the resting place of the ship.

 

 

The dive will become the World Record for the Deepest Scuba Dive to a Suncken Wreck.

Mandarin Divers are assisting by providing some of the support for the expedition diver and La Laguna Beach and Dive Centre, Puerto Galera will provide the vessel used for the diving operations.

Japanese Destroyer Kuwa

Prior to the week of the deep dive, Mandarin Divers through International Association of Nitrox and Technical Divers (IANTD) will be contucting several training programs. These will include IANTD KISS CCR Rebreather Diver course, IANTD KISS CCR Rebreather Instructor Course, IANTD Technical Nitrox Instructor Course, IANTD Expedition Trimix Course.
